MsS System Specification Capabilities Procedures Calibration Report

MsSR 3030R Equipment

  • Two channel transmitters and receivers for controlling direction of wave propagation
  • 120 V or 240 V AC, 50/60 Hz, power or internal battery operated; The internal battery supplies more than 2 days of typical use; Battery is charged with external charger.
  • Wide frequency range operation: 5 kHz to 250 kHz
  • The system has band pass filter at 16, 32, 45, 64, 90, 128, 180, and 250 kHz
  • Time-corrected gain (TCG) function for increasing signal-to-noise ratio
  • Quick multiple reflection
  • Two operation modes: pulse-echo or pitch-catch
  • Light weight

MsS Probe

  • Multiple frequency probe: 5 to 16 kHz, 32, 45, 64, 90, 128, 180, and 250 kHz
  • The MsS probe can be installed with more than 25-mm clearance around the pipe
  • The MsS probe can be installed without clearance if the pipe is accessible more than 60 percent around the circumference. The heat tracer line does not need to be lifted.
  • Probe is very light (less than 0.8 kg for 24-inch pipe testing probe)

MsS Software

  • Functions: sorting out false calls due to multiple reflections
  • Multi-frequency data analysis for finding different size of defects
  • Spectrogram display for showing frequency response of indication
  • Automatic finding of indications with setting of threshold level
  • TCG, DAC, RF, and spectrogram data plot
  • Calibration function of velocity, attenuation, percent reflection
